JJW Watches presents this excellent example of the discontinued Rolex Submariner 16610LV 'Kermit', which marked the 50th anniversary of the Submariner line in 2003. It was the first Submariner to feature a green aluminium bezel insert. This was seen as a bold move from Rolex on its release, but has now built cult status. The Submariner 'Kermit' also features a 'Maxi' dial which has enlarged hour markers and hands from previous 16610 models. 

This Submariner features a 40mm stainless steel case and powered by the reliable Rolex calibre 3135 movement. The 16610LV is water-resistant to 300 meters and uses an aluminium insert for its distinctive green bezel. The aluminium insert is a key differentiator from the later 116610LV “Hulk,” which uses ceramic.

This piece represents a turning point in Submariner history and holds value not only for its anniversary status but also as the bridge between vintage and modern Submariners. With discontinued status and rising demand, it’s become a favourite among collectors.
