Watch Description
Here we have for sale one of our most popular pre-owned Rolex models, the Submariner 16610 is an iconic watch. This 1999 version of the Submariner 16610 features the highly collective 'SWISS' only dial. This refers to the inscription on the dial at the 6'oclock position. This marking signifies that the watch was produced during a transitional period in the late 1990s when Rolex switched from tritium to LumiNova for their luminescence, the 'Swiss Only' dials were only in production for 18 months when they were replaced by 'Swiss Made' dials when the switch to SuperLuminova was made. The short production run on the 'Swiss Only' dials add to the watches rarity and collectability. This pre-owned Submariner features the visible lug holes for the bracelet spring bar.
The Submariner 16610 was produced between 1988 and 2010 and is powered by the calibre 3135 movement, renowned for its accuracy and durability. This self-winding Rolex movement has a 48 hour power reserve, and has been featured in Rolex watches for decades. The unidirectional rotatable bezel features an aluminium insert with minute markers to track dive time.
The Rolex Submariner is an iconic watch from the Rolex collection, and still remains one of their most in demand models. The Submariner was first introduced 1953 and was the first wristwatch designed for diving and capable of withstanding depths of up to 100 metres. The Rolex Submariner gained fame from this huge milestone in watchmaking history. The Rolex Submariner 16610 is known for its robustness, and reliability.
For those who appreciate the Submariner timepiece that embodies both historical significance and superior craftsmanship, the Rolex Submariner 16610 with the 'Swiss' only dial is an exceptional choice. It is more than just a watch; it is a testament to Rolex's enduring legacy of excellence and innovation in the world of horology.
